 Knowledge Article 0307:
How can I use international characters in SellFolio?
Applicability: SellFolio
4.0 Complete only
_________________________________________________
NOTE: SellFolio LLC does not warrant that all language sets
and character sets can be used in a SellFolio project.
NOTE: We are seeking to ensure that all language sets and
character sets can be used, so we encourage users to email
support@sellfolio.com if these instructions prove to be
successful. Please attach your UnicodeInput.txt file that you
modify in the steps, below.
1) Open Windows Explorer (RIGHT-click over your Windows
Start button on your Desktop and choose Explore), and
browse for your C:\Program Files\SellFolios V4 Complete folder.
2) Locate the UnicodeInput.txt file. The remainder of
this document provides instructions for modifying this file.
But, by default, your system might not permit such changes. To
resolve this, RIGHT-click over the file. Choose Properties >
Security tab > and under "Group or user names," choose the
user option that you are using (usually the "Users" option will
work). Click the Edit button to change permissions, select the same
user option again in the list, and under "Permissions for
Users," select all available "Allow" checkboxes. Be sure to use the
scrollbar to view all available permission settings. Click OK
to exit out of the dialog boxes.
3) Now that editing permissions have been enabled, double-click the UnicodeInput.txt file to open it in
Notepad.
4) You'll see a group of characters. DO NOT delete those
existing characters, but place your cursor beneath the existing
characters and type all characters for the language you wish to use.
In other words, you are adding your new-language characters to the
existing characters allowed by SellFolio.
5) Save this UnicodeInput.txt file.
6) Open SellFolio Builder, and go to Step 2-B. Click the
"Select A Font To Add" button to import a font that you are certain
supports the characters you entered in the UnicodeInpurt.txt file.
7) After that font completes the importation process, be sure that
it is selected in one or more of the font lists for your project.
Click the OK button.
8) Go into Live Layout mode for any part of your project. Edit
a text object, and ensure that the appropriate font is selected for
that object, and type your characters for that text object.
9) Do a Test-Drive to ensure that it works.
NOTE: If you need basic information on making your system compatible
with the language set you need, please see these suggestions:
• You might be able to access international characters by holding
the CTRL + SHIFT keys together and using the other keys on your
keyboard.
• To type in a particular language, go to Control Panel and then
find Language and Regional settings, then open the 'Languages' tab
and then click the 'Details' button. On the next screen you
will be able to add language support for the language you need.
• You might also need to go to Control Panel > Language and Regional
Settings, and then open the 'Additional' tab and enable additional
"codepages" support.
• The most-simple way may be to copy your international character
text into the clipboard and then to SellFolio.
